Every step of the above instructions is a must follow. You won’t be able to send money to MTN merchant account if you miss any of the steps below.

Steps to Send Money to a MTN Merchant Number

There are basically two ways to get this done. You can send money to a MTN Merchant by using MoMo Pay or the normal transfer money option.

Method One (Transfer Money)

There is no difference between sending money to a mobile money subscriber and merchant. You basically use the same steps you use in sending money to non-merchant numbers. Follow the steps below to get this done.

  1. Dial *170#.
  2. Select option 1 (MoMo User).
  3. Enter merchant’s mobile money number.
  4. Confirm number.
  5. Enter amount to transfer.
  6. Enter your mobile money PIN
  7. Press 1 to confirm.

 

Send money to MTN Merchant Account Using MOMO Pay

Follow the steps below.

  1. Dial *170#
  2. Select option 2 (MoMo Pay and Pay Bills)
  3. Choose option 1 (MoMo Pay)
  4. Enter Merchant ID
  5. Enter amount you want to transfer
  6. Enter your mobile money PIN
  7. Press 1 to confirm
  8. That’s it. Your transfer is successful
