The University of Health and Allied Sciences Students Representative Council (SRC) has unveiled its premier student-centered software – UHASMobile.

The software, which was developed by two brilliant technology-inclined final year Medical Students, Mr. Osam-Frimpong Schandorf and Mr. Silas Agbesi was officially launched on the 7th of February 2020 at the Trafalgar Auditorium, UHAS, Ho.

This is one of many other apps developed by the duo including, STGapp, Mex TV app, My Thumb, an online voting system.

The two software developers revealed that they had been working on this project for 2 months The software was designed upon identifying the need for a fast and responsive information system database to help solve problems faced by students, and to give the student populace a great campus experience.

The software was built using the Flutter programming language targeted at making applications responsive and easy for student use.

Sessions of students in the university have expressed their excitement about the app and find it very useful for assisting their day-to-day activities as students.

The Management of the SRC and the student session who were available at the launch were extremely thankful to these two individuals for their innovation and their contribution to the overall technological development of the institution.

When asked how it is like combining medical education with app development, they consider it as about passion and prioritization, ‘‘skills and lessons learnt in one discipline enlightens our approach to dealing with the challenges in the other’’ they said.

The soon to-be-doctors who have interest in specializing in Research/academia and emergency medicine respectively also has interest in specializing in Artificial Intelligence and looks forward to developing other innovative apps moving forward.

They also expressed their readiness to welcome any ideas in improving the app and developing others.
