The Ghana Information Technology and Telecommunications Awards GITTA last Friday organized an awards ceremony at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra to appreciate and acknowledge individuals, organizations and institutions in the areas of Information Technology (IT) and Telecommunications.
The awards ceremony was highly attended, with the presence of top businessmen/women, Chief Executive Officers, officials from the various technology hubs and telecommunications companies among others.
UWAT’s very own Miss Elorm Axolu a participant of the 2018 Unlocking Women and Technology (UWAT) program was awarded “Most Promising Female in ICT”. She was given a plague in her honour. In an interview, Elorm expressed her profound gratitude to UWAT and iSpace Foundation for nominating her.
She stated “I am very grateful to UWAT and iSpace for giving me such an opportunity, its feels good to be awarded as the most promising female in ICT in the whole of Ghana. ”
Miss Elorm Axolu is a past student of Ghana Telecom University College. She joined the UWAT program this year to enable her start a business of her own and to improve upon her coding skills. Just within the three months period Miss Elorm has improved marvelously.
This award goes a long way to show how iSpace Foundation is passionate about empowering females and bridging the gender gap in technology.

Over the years, besides promoting excellence in the telecom sector, GITTA has evolved and extended its reach to include companies which have taken efforts to innovate its business through the adoption of technology.
