Apply to Become MEST Entrepreneur-In-Training 2018

Overview:

Application are now open for the 2018 MEST Entrepreneur-In-Training. MEST offers aspiring African entrepreneurs a fully sponsored twelve month, intensive full-time program. Sourced from top graduates in Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa and Ivory Coast, these Entrepreneurs-In-Training (EITs) are selected each year and receive comprehensive training across the spectrum of skills required to build successful tech businesses, including computer programming, software development, product management, finance, marketing, sales and leadership best practices. Application are open online year-round for the August intake and closes in May. Applications are done in block basis with which each participating country having its opening and closing dates though eligible candidate can apply through any of the participating country.

Screening goes through an online applications which consist of basic profiling, questions and an aptitude test. On-phone interview and in-person interview. Final selected applicants then get full twelve month scholarship at MEST to be train as entrepreneurs to setup a tech company in Accra – Ghana.

Eligibility:

MEST recruit applicants with the following qualities:

  • An entrepreneurial spirit and strong desire to start a company
  • Demonstrated personal drive, stamina, and self-motivation
  • Ability to meet goals and deadlines
  • Ability to work well in teams and demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Ability to communicate candidly and persuasively
  • Confidence and independent thinking
  • Excellent people skills
  • Proven academic excellence
  • Confidence and independent thinking

Key requirement to sure successful application are, you must:

  1. A deep passion for starting a software company
  2. Entrepreneurial or corporate work experience
  3. A degree from a top University or Technical College (or equivalent experience)
  4. Ability to commit a 12 month period to stay in Accra, Ghana to participate in the program starting August 2018.

Benefits:

After completion of the program, the EITs have the opportunity to pitch their business idea. Winning teams receive seed funding from MEST, and move into one of the MEST run incubators located in Accra, Lagos or Capetown.

Successful applicants after the application get:
